Burning Regulations
1. No burning permitted within 300 feet of any building.
2. Maintain at least 300 foot fire break, clear of vegetation, around burning material.
3. Have a competent person in attendance at all times when burning is in progress.
4. Have adequate water supply available and on the location at all times when burning is being done.
5. No burning shall be done when the wind speed or other conditions exist to carry burning embers or sparks onto adjoining property and/or onto combustible material within the project and surrounding areas.
6. All burning shall be stopped if justifable complaints are made. If the fire dpeartment is sent to the scene, the officer answering the alarm will extinguish the fire and no more burning shall be done until cleared with a representative from the Fire Chiefs office. If the Fire Department is sent to the scene, a $50 charge will be assessed.
7. All fires and/or smoldering embers must be extinguished before nightfall and no burning will be done at night.
8. Burn permits are issued for the burning of vegetation only(tree limbs and brush).The burning of chemicals, rubber, plastics, synthetics or composite materials is strictly prohibited.
A member of the department will inspect the property and approve or deny your permit within 7 days.
